Layin down the ground rules!

Have you ever tried to look for recipes online before? It can be a hassle and half some times. Actually finding what you're interested is one thing, but most of the time when you look at the instructions they expect you to have a gourmet cooking background as well as access to a restaurant kitchen's worth of ingredients.

Well, this blog is here to remedy that! Whats going on interwebs? My name is Tom and I will be your wonderful host here on "A Tall Order". I have a nice easy recipe to get you started with, but first I must state a few things.

I am not a chef, nor do I expect you be.

I am a 23 year old college student who just likes to cook for himself a lot. I have no training what-so-ever and I will be treating you just the same way. If you do have some cooking experience, great, but I will not be assuming you know much about cooking (well, hopefully you can boil water, thats important)

I like to curse.... a lot.

This isn't a family friendly environment, if you don't like cursing....well fuck off then. I curse, its a part of who I am I suppose, but deal with it. I'm not trying to make this some snobby cooking shindig on Food Network or something.

I primarily eat chicken and spicy food.

But don't let that stop you from trying out the recipe anyway! Unless ingredients are absolutely essential to the recipe, you can leave them entirely or substitute it with something else. Fuck, most of my recipes I come up with are entirely from experimentation

With that all said and done, lets move onto the first recipe!

Simple Chicken Ramen
(Yes, I said Ramen)

When people here the word ramen, they think "Hm, shitty cheap college student food". Which they would be correct in assuming, if its prepared just by following the directions on the packet. Though, with a couple extra ingredients, you can make a package of Ramen into a quite filling meal.
Ingredients:
1 Packet of chicken flavored Ramen Noodles
1 Chicken Breast
1 Onion
1 Carrot
3 Garlic Cloves
2 Chile Peppers (optional)
2 Packets of soy sauce (I'm serious, you probably have like 5 billion of these if you've ever had chinese food before)
Olive Oil
Rice Wine (Its like $2.00 a bottle where I live and it lasts a looooooong time)
Salt and Pepper if you like

1) First things first. Chop all those veggies the fuck up!
2) After you've laid your sweet weapon skills on those pathetic veggies, heat some olive oil up and cook them on Medium-High heat for about 2 minutes.

3) Take the Ramen Noodle flavor packet out of the bag and mix it with roughly 1 1/2 to 2 cups of water.

4) Add the broth you just made to the pot, along with your soy sauce packets and a splash of Rice Wine. Lets this cook on Medium-High
4) After that's done cooking, get a strainer and strain the veggies, pouring the broth into a new pot.
5) Put the new pot on to LOW HEAT (Very important) and place the chicken breast into the broth. DO NOT LET IT BOIL IT WILL RUIN THE CHICKEN. Let the chicken sit in the broth for roughly 7 - 10 minutes.
6) Take the chicken out of the broth and cut it into thin slices.

7) Put everything into a bowl and chow down in sweet sweet victory!

And thats it! First meal is over and done with! If you have and questions or just wanna say nice things about me, feel free to leave a comment below. I will make sure to read every comment and give feedback as much as possible. If you don't have anything nice to say to me, well go fuck yourself then.

Lates.
